Britain (or Britton or Brittain) was born in 1816, the son of Hardee and Polly (Lancaster) Williford. In 1835 he married Jane Dugger in Maury, Tennessee. They would set up housekeeping and have the following children while living in Tennessee:
Benjamin Franklin Williford (1836-1862)
Mirandy Reynolds Willeford (1838-1877)
Harriet Catherine Williford) Trice (1839-1893)
Samuel Lancaster Williford (1842-1855)
Mary Jane (Williford) Roberts (1843-1900)
Joseph Wallis Williford (1845-1880)
Britain and Jane would then move to Harrison County, Texas in 1846 and have the rest of their children as follows:
William Lancaster Williford (1847-1938)
Thomas Almond Williford (1849-1920)
Charles Britain Williford (1854-1937)
They family would leave Harrison County in favor of Gonzales County, Texas in around 1865.
Britain would pass away in around 1884 at about 68 years of age.
