Biography
When Mary Ellen Willis and her twin brother Benjamin Jackson were born on June 22, 1857, in Lamar, Texas, their father, Benjamin, was 37 and their mother, Ellender, was 25. She married James Monroe Latham in 1878. They had four children in 12 years. She died on November 30, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas, at the age of 80, and was buried in Pontotoc, Texas.
