Marmaduke was born on the 12th January 1818, in Glasbury, Breconshire, Wales, to Catherine Willis. He was baptised on 18th January, 1818, in Glasbury.[1]
Marmaduke first went to sea at the age of 13 in 1831. He was registered as a Merchant Seaman on the 23rd January, 1845, in London. Registration number 13541. He was said to have a Fresh complexion with Brown hair and Hazel Eyes. His Height was said to be 5ft 2 inches. His address was recorded as Westminster. [2]
In the 2nd Quarter of 1845, in Isle of Wight, Hampshire, Marmaduke married Hannah Rebecca Marsdell. [3]
When the 1851 census was taken, Marmaduke was recorded as being married and working as a cook in Portland Convicts Prison, Dorset. [4]
The 1861 census shows Marmaduke living in Portland, Dorset. [5]
By 1871, Marmaduke has moved his family to Hackney, Middlesex and is working as a butcher. [6]
In 1881, Marmaduke is living at 126, Case Road, Hackney, London & Middlesex, England. [7]
Marmaduke passed away in 1886, in Hackney, Middlesex, England. [8]
