Biography
Monroe Talley Willoughby was a son of Thomas Willoughby of England and his wife, Elizabeth Kennedy. Monroe was born in 1881 in Cass County, TX and had a twin brother, Alonzo "Lon" Talley Willoughby. He had two more siblings, Odessa and Charles and had at least two half-siblings, Mary Lucy Polly Willoughby Kennedy and Thomas J. Willoughby.
Monroe married Annie Anthony on 3 June 1906 in Carter County, OK. According to one source they had a large family of 13 children.
The 1910 census showed them as having 3 children: Bessie, Bertha and Beatrice ( m. Frank Crow). By 1920 sons Thomas, Robert, Cody and James were born. The 1930 census saw the addition of Lillian, M T Jr, Louise and Calvin. The source mentioned above states there was a Charlene ( Bobbie Charline, married DeRozier?) and Tam but these don't show up in the census reports so these children died or married.
Monroe Talley Willoughby died on 20 March 1931 and was laid to rest in Oklahoma.
