KLENK—WILLOUGHBY.—The engagement is announced of Marjorie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Klenk, of Glandore (formerly Fremantle) to Ross, second son of Mrs. and late Mr. E. Willoughby, of Mile-End. W.A. papers please copy.[2][3]
Ross married Marjorie Olive May KLENK on the 10th July 1937 at the residence of C. C. Klenk, Ashford. Ross is registered as 29, single, and the son of Michael Ernest WILLOUGHBY. Marjorie is registered as 31, single, and the daughter of Carl Christian KLENK.[4]
Ross signed up for World War Two on the 17th January 1942 at Adelaide. His date of birth is given as 2nd October 1907, he is a grocer, married with three children, and living at 3 Wellington St, Glandore. His Army number is SX16962. He spent the majority of his service with 32 and 34 Australian Infantry Training Battalions and was discharged from service as an Acting Sergeant on the 30th July 1944. He suffered from early osteo-arthritis in both knees which rendered him medically unfit. His total engagement was 913 days.[5]
Ross passed away on the 22nd March 1966 in Adelaide at the age of 58. He was registered as married and living in Glandore at the time of his death.[6]
