Biography

Joseph was born in 1749. He was the son of John Willoughby and Anna Chamberlain. [1]

He married Lois Ball in 1760. [2] They had the following children:

  1. Joseph Willoughby 1761-1812
  2. Josiah Willoughby 1763-1836

Lois died in 1763. In 1765. he married Mehitable Rice. [3]

Meritable died in 1804. [4]

They lived in Monkton, Vermont after 1790. [5][6] [7]

Joseph and Meritable had the following children:

  1. Sarah Willoughby 1766-1825; m. Josiah Lawrence 1788
  2. Susannah (Smith/Niles) 1770-1852
  3. Mary Willoughby 1772–1849; m. Isaac Sawyer 1792

He married Anna Bates in 1805. [8]

Joseph died in 1810. [9]
