Biography

Emma Wilson was born in 1841 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. She was a daughter of William Wilson. [1]

Emma migrated to the Colony of New South Wales (Australia), with parents and siblings in 1845.[2][3]

On 19th March 1861, Emma married Philip Bunt, second son of former convict John Bunt and his wife Anne Fairall, who had migrated from Birmingham, England as a younger girl, like Emma. Emma and Philip married at Camden, New South Wales. [4]

A few years after marrying, and before the birth of their second child, Emma and Philip migrated to outback Queensland, to Barcaldine. They would be blessed with ten children and 72 grandchildren.

Emma passed away on 15th June 1922 in Barcaldine and is buried in Barcaldine Cemetery. [5] She was survived by Philip.
