Capt John Wilson b. 31 Dec 1756 d. 15 Feb 1847 Warren Co, GA bur. Wilson Family Cem, Thomson, McDuffie Co, GA; m. 02 Oct 1783 Mary Robertson b. 1765 d. 1826.[1]

John's brothers moved to Clarke Co, AL in 1815. Brothers are James Wilson b. 1762; Samuel b. 1772 d. 15 Nov 1862 Walker Co TX m. 1792 Wilkes Co, GA Ann Newsom. On James Wilson, Rev. Pension papers of Lauderdale Co, MS May 1840 states his birth, where he lived (in Augusta Co, GA) then Warren Co, GA and served under his brother John Wilson, in Warren Co, GA; moved to Clarke Co, AL in 1815.[1]

Research Note

This profile stated that he was born in Henry (Co?), VA with no source. Henry Co, VA didn't exist until 1777.

Warren Co, GA was created from Columbia, Washington and Wilkes counties in 1793. McDuffie Co, GA was created from Columbia and Warren counties in 1870. Thomson was originally called Slashes, was founded in 1837 and became the county seat of McDuffie Co when it was formed in 1870.[1]
