Biography

I was born in 1955 in Alberta, Canada, but grew up in Wisconsin. My interest in genealogy has grown as I've gotten older and unfortunately after many of the direct sources of information have passed away. It's been a fascinating project and I've found out things about my family that my parents didn't know (my dad's grandmother was adopted and I identified her birthfamily) connected to all degrees of cousins all over US and Canada, and become excited about DNA genealogy. The progress I've made couldn't have been done without the internet and other cousins that have worked on family genealogies. In addition to genealogy I'm a mom to 2 daughters, wife to Jamie, an avid reader, Suduko puzzle addict, photographer, writer, environmentalist, cook, competative birder, doodler, Facebook-aholic, pet rescuer (we have 7 formerly feral cats that do not go outside and 2 rescue dogs) gardener, and shower singer.

Hi Betty, I have not had much time to do genealogy lately. If I can come back in to the project later, it would be appreciated

Jennifer

Thank you for your fast response, Jennifer. You are welcome to return to the 1776 project when you have more time. We'll be happy to restore your badge at that time.

Best regards, Betty

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

In response to your question about my Mustard line: my great grandmother's adoptive mother was Margaret Mustard Coleman. Her father, Hugh Mustard, was born in 1820 in Cromarty, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. He came to Ontario, Canada in 1848, then to Dickinson County, KS in 1875. He died there in 1905. A number of his children remained in Kansas, however several of them later moved to Washington state
Thanks for the merge of Jacob Cory and Corey. We need to fix a bunch of Coreys that have the "e" in the name way to early. I see that you have only Corey in your family list. I suggest that you add Cory to it also. I see that you are from the William (Bristol) Cory line, but you have him and his father John with the "e" in the name. That is incorrect.

Thank you for the information on Benjiah Corey. The story as a whole in that reference did seem fantastical, almost as if it was written by one of the family enemies or something, ha! Anyways, I'll look into the site posted and update the profile as such.

Hi :)

Thanks for that :)...that's what my mum said many years ago...my uncle was unable to find out who his father was...he searched for many years...he has passed on now.

Thank you for your reply. Helen :)

I see that you were born in Alberta. My Berry family and Mustard's were from the Raven area of Alberta.

Hi Jennifer, there's a merge pending on Rebecca Smith and Rebecca Cornell. Could you take a look at your pending merges when you have a moment? Thanks!

Hi Jimmy, Re your Trusted list request for Dorothy Lettice Gray, so you have any additional documentation to add?

Hi Jennifer, I don't believe that I can add any new info at this time. Did notice that you edited the biography with birth date of 1633, but you did not change the date on the profile.

Welcome to the 1776 Project (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:1776), a subproject of the Military and War Project: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects#Military_and_War_Project

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.

If you haven’t already, please set your preferences for your Tags Followed to include 1776 Project and any other tag terms that you wish to follow: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

Some categories have a template (SAR) to add at the top of a biography. If not, add a category link by putting the category name such as Template:1776 for those who bore arms in the Revolution and Template:1776 for those who contributed patriotic or civil service. Thank you.

Hi Jennifer, I'm project coordinator for the new Genealogical Societies Committee, and reaching out to those who commented on the G2G post. We were curious if you were interested in helping establish a page/presence for your society on WikiTree, and/or if you have any ideas on how to get your society involved on WikiTree. Let me know if you are interested and we'll go from there! Thanks!! - Summer

Dear Jennifer, Regarding Mary (Ayers) McAlevy, I found the two profiles (Ayers-1039 and Ayers-339) the other day when linking Ayers profiles to the Ayer Name Study. I tagged them the other day to go back and look further. There is not much there, but based on what is said, they appear to be the same person - basically the wife of Miles McAlevy. There is a discrepancy in dates (which may be just estimates - I could not tell whether either was based on a primary source). Today I looked again and proposed a merge. I suggest since the other profile is an orphan, you merge them and give the resulting profile the best dates supported by sources. Warren
