Biography

Margaret Wilson was enumerated at Paulding County, Georgia for the August 24, United States Census, 1850. She was noted as born 1836 in Georgia as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Jane Wilson, male Micajah Wilson, female Elizabeth Wilson, female Caroline Wilson and female Amanda Wilson.[1]

Margaret Brooks was enumerated at Post Office Van Wert, 1074th District Georgia Militia, Polk County, Georgia for the July 13, United States Census, 1860. She was noted as born 1835 in Georgia and a domestic as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male William Brooks, male James Brooks, male Wilson Brooks and female Jane Brooks.[2]

Margaret Brooks was enumerated at Draketown-Pauldng County Post Office, Carroll County, Georgia for the July 21, United States Census, 1870. She was noted as born 1836-1837 in Georgia and keeping house as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male William Brooks, male James Brooks, male Wilson Brooks, female Jane Brooks, male Thomas Brooks, female Mary Brooks, female Sarah Brooks and female Octavia Brooks.[3]

Margaret Brooks was enumerated as wife at District 649, Carroll County, Georgia for the June 9, United States Census, 1880. She was noted as keeping house, born 1838 in Georgia and married as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self William Brooks, son Thomas Brooks, daughter Mary Brooks, daughter Sarah Brooks, daughter Octava Brooks and son Doctor R Brooks.[4]

Margret H Brooks was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Precincts 15-16 Pine Grove, Blue Pond, DeKalb County, Alabama for the June 8, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born February 1836 in Georgia and had been married forty-nine years. She was not the mother of any children as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household is head William Brooks.[5]

Margaret Wilson was listed as the mother of Mary M. Pope who died August 31, 1939 in Henegar, DeKalb County, Alabama. The father was listed as William Brooks.[6]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[7] Margaret Hunter Wilson Brooks is buried at Unity Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Henagar, DeKalb County, Alabama, USA.[8]
