According to the Boddies, John Wilson, born 1767, was a son of Thomas Wilson (b 1735) and Elizabeth "McLin".
According to The Heritage of the Toe River Valley, John Wilson married [unknown] Moore. Some other sources give her first name as "Sally". [Need more evidence for John Wilson's wife.]

"Thomas Wilson b 1735 in Brunswick Co, Va (Isle of Wight), son of Thomas Wilson, Sr. and his wife, Amy Irvin (see will of Mrs. Elizabeth Irvin). Married in Brunswick Co, Va 6/28/1758 to Elizabeth McLin (dau of Wm McLin) He died in 1800. Lived in Burke Co, NC During the Rev. Received a land grant 3/14/1780 (Book 28, file 270 NC Grants) 350 a. on both sides of Muddy Fork at Samuel Wood's corner, adjoining the land Thomas Wilson now has. John Mackey had a survey adjoining Thomas Wilson, dated 10/14/1779 in Burke Co, NC (Mackey and Allied Families, p. 544. Rev War Voucher no 5104 dated Feb 1783 for a total 325 pounds for public claim.
