Joseph Wilson was born in Kentucky on December 5, 1834 [1] to William and Sarah Wilson. [2][3] His mother was called "Allie". [1]
Joseph Wilson married Eliza Lively before 1860 in Hart County, Kentucky. The couple were noted in the 1860 Federal Census for Hart County, Kentucky. [4]
The following children were born to Joseph and Eliza Wilson in the next decade: Emmett O., Callie, William Henry, James Allen, Rodelia, Mariah B., and Preston Lee. [5]
Emmitt O. Wilson was born January 24, 1861 in Hart County. [5][6] He was their first child.
Caledonia "Callie" was born in 1862 in Hart County. [5]
William Henry was born in 1863. He was called Henry. He married Annie Logsdon and had a son named Fremont Wilson (1899 - 1953). He is buried in Camp Ground Cemetery, Bonnieville, Hart County, Kentucky. [5][7]
James Allen was born November 16, 1864. He married Hattie Wilson around 1890. (1870 - 1924) He died December 15, 1926. He is buried in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery, Horse Cave, Hart County, Kentucky [5][8]
Eliza or "Elsie" Wilson died March 21 1872, [10] twelve days after the birth of Joseph Benjamin Wilson. [11] Information in her son, Henry's memorial referred to her as "Elsie"."Michelle♥, [7][12]
Joseph Wilson married second Elizabeth Pearman. Their sons were John L. (age 4) and Alvin O. (3), as recorded in the 1880 census. [3] [Their second son was actually named Alva.] [13]
Joseph Wilson died December 27, 1892 and was buried in the family cemetery on the farm in Hart County, Kentucky. His first wife, Eliza Lively Wilson, his parents, and his brother, William, also have headstones in the Old Wilson Cemetery.
