DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
William Wilson Jr. and the William Wilson on this page have different birthdates and birth locations. William Wilson Jr. was born 25 Feb 1775 York, SC. William Wilson listed here was born 16 Aug 1774 according to his grave marker. Mary Frances Green Wilson Grier (3rd wife of James Harwell Wilson, son of William), sister-in-law and step mother of Evelyn Elizabeth Wilson Green, copied from the family Bible that William was born 15 Aug 1775. Other family papers have John Wilson as father of this William Wilson. Unless you have more documentation, I need to remove the link from William Jr. to Mary Leake Wilson and not merge William Wilson (15/16 Aug 1774/5 Augusta County, VA) and William Wilson (25 Feb 1775 York, SC).
