Nancy Ann (Wilson) Douglas, young, wealthy widow of Archibald Douglas, married Gen. John Baylis Earle 17 Dec 1816. She was his second wife. Their daughter, Georgia Washington Earle, was born in 1824 at Silver Glade,Anderson,SC. After her husband's death, she moved to Greenville with their daughter.
Anna was born about 1793 with the surname Wilson. She became the widow of Archibald Douglas while still young. Mrs. Nancy Ann Douglas then married Gen. John Baylis Earle, 17 Dec 1816, becoming his second wife. They had a daughter, Georgia Washington Earle, that was born in 1824 at their (substantial) plantation of Silver Glade in the old Pendleton district of South Carolina (now Anderson County). After Gen. J.B. Earle passed in 1836, the twice widowed Anna and daughter moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Georgia later married J.M.A. Turpin.[1][2]
