Biography

Date and location of Mary Wilson's birth are unknown; her birth is estimatd at about 1625 based on her marriage in 1646.

Mary was married to Thomas Bray on May 5, 1646 in Gloucester, Essex County. Massachusetts.

Mary died in Gloucester, March 27, 1707

It's stated in numerous secondary sources that Mary was the daughter of Rev. John & Elizabeth (Mansfield) Wilson, however, Bob Anderson states that Mary Wilson married Rev. Samuel Danforth in 1651 and secondly Joseph Rock.[1] Joseph Gardiner in his treatment of Rev. John also states the same thing… that his daughter Mary was married to Danforth and Rock and not Thomas Bray.[2] So at this point Mary's parents are unknown.

There is no evidence that Theophilus Wilson was the father of Marie (Mary) Wilson, the wife of Thomas Bray. I've removed him as her father.

In the article published in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, January 2001, the authors list Mary Wilson, daughter of Rev. John and Elizabeth Mansfield Wilson, as follows: "Mary Wilson, b. in Boston 12 September 1633 and bp there 15 September 1633; married in 1651 Rev. Samuel Danforth, (2) Joseph Rock. No mention of Thomas Bray. Also, in Douglas Richardson's "Royal Ancestry," he states: "They [Elizabeth Mansfield and Rev. John Wilson] had two daughters, Elizabeth (wife of Ezekiel Rogers) and Mary (wife of Rev. Samuel Danforth and Joseph Rock." The NEGHR and Richardson's books are considered to be extremely well researched, and are used as reliable source documentation.

I have removed John Wilson (Wilson-1990) and Hannah James from being her parents. You had listed Mary Wilson (Wilson-2733) as being married several years before her parents. Impossible! You have provided no sources for her. The LDS source provides no proof of anything about her.

I just ran across this profile while searching for something else, and I noticed that her marriage date is set two months before her birth date. I'm sure it's a typo, but I thought you'd like to correct it. Thanks!
