Louis graduated from The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
From 1886 to 1896, Louis was a Biology Teacher at St. Paul's Central High School.
In 1891, Louis married Mary Stapleton in St. Paul, Minnesota. They had two daughters.
From 1896 to 1905, Louis was Assistant Director of the Bacteriological Laboratory of Minnesota State Board of Health, and Assistant Professor of Pathology and Bacteriology at The University of Minnesota.
From 1905 until his retirement in 1937, Louis was Chief of Pathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
During WWI, Louis served as a surgeon in the Army.
In 1920, Mary passed away in Rochester.
In 1924, Louis married Maud (Headline) Mellish. She was head of the Mayo Clinic Library and Editor-in-Chief of the Collected Papers by the Staff of St Mary’s Hospital Mayo Clinic.
In 1933, Maud passed away.
In 1935, Louis married Grace McCormick in Rochester.
In 1937, Louis retired.
In 1943, Louis passed away. In 1964, Grace passed away.

Dr. L. B. Wilson, 'U' Professor, to Wed
Pittsburgh, Dec. 31.—(AP)—Dr. Louis Blanchard Wilson, pathologist at the University of Minnesota, and Miss Grace McCormick of Philadelphia, will be married January 2, the day after the American Association for the Advancement of Science closes its session here. Their friendship began 30 years ago. The couple will make their home at Rochester, Minn., where Dr. Wilson is director of the Mayo foundation for medical education and research.

ROCHESTER, MINN.—(AP)—Dr. Louis B. Wilson, 76, director of Mayo foundation for 22 years and whose interests ranged from ballistics to photography, died in St. Mary's hospital here Tuesday night. He had been ill several months.
Dr. Wilson came to Rochester in 1905 to establish and develop laboratories of what is now the Mavo clinic. At the time, he became the ninth member of the staff of a partnership of Dr. William Worrell Mayo, his two sons who later headed the clinic, and two other physicians.
He retired in 1937 and was named director emeritus of the clinic. During his service, he served as head of the section on pathology and professor of pathology of Mayo foundation.
Dr. Wilson, graduate of University of Minnesota, was teacher of biology at Central high school in St. Paul from 1886 to 1896 and from 1896 to 1905 was assistant director of the bacteriological laboratory of Minnesota state board of health and assistant professor of pathology and bacteriology at University of Minnesota.
During the first World war, he served as major in the medical corps as assistant director of the laboratory division of the AEF [American Expeditionary Forces]. Later he was promoted to colonel and was given the distinguished service medal.
Besides his hobbies as a photographer and horticulturist, Dr. Wilson was a consultant on ballistics for the army. He had a 200-yard rifle range at his home where he conducted experiments.
