Biography

Carson James was born in 1893. He was the son of Thomas Henry Wilson and Doris Ann Menia Busch. He passed away in 1915.


Carson Wilson (Service number 10/238) from Featherston served in the NZ Army during the Gallipoli campaign of WW1. He embarked 16 Oct 1914 from Wellington, aboard HMNZT 7 or HMNZT 10 the vessels "Arawa" or "Limerick" arriving into Suez Egypt on 3 December 1914, He was a Private with the Wellington Infantry Battalion Main Body. He was Killed in Action, 8 August 1915 at Gallipoli, Turkey and is memorialized on the Chunuk Bair (New Zealand) Memorial, at Chunuk Bair Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey
