Peter Leslie Orme Wilson was born on 4th June 1910 at Paddington, London, England. He was the eldest child of the future governor of Queensland, (Sir) Leslie Orme Wilson, and (Lady) Winifred Wilson nee Smith.[1]
Peter enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 6th November 1939, serving during the Second World War.[2] His final posting was to Central Flying School, before being discharged on 15th April 1942.
On the 20th April 1942, he enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force [3] Peter was a member of the 41st Australian Landing Craft Unit. He was discharged on 7th November 1945.
Peter married Isobel Ferrier, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs James Ferrier, of Surat, Queensland, on 2nd March 1950 in St Mary's Church, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.[4] They had two children:[5]
Peter became a farmer and grazier in Queensland, Australia. They owned Currimundi House, Dicky Beach, Caloundra, Queensland; built by his parents on Wilson Road in the 1930s.[6]
He passed away, aged 70 years, on 6th July 1980 in Queensland, Australia, and was buried in Caloundra Cemetery, Queensland.[7]
