Biography

Ellen Wilson (married name Stoneham) was born on 7 March 1844 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Helen (Black) Wilson and Robert Wilson.^[1]

She was christened on 31 May 1844 in Geelong.^{[citation needed]}

She married William Stoneham on 15 September 1863 at St Thomas's Church in Winchelsea, Victoria.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• William Alfred Stoneham (1868–1941)
• John Valentine Stoneham (1870–1871)
• Bertha Mabel Stoneham (1873–?)

Ellen died on 20 February 1889 at 210 Madeline Street, Carlton, Victoria, aged 44 years.^[3] She was buried on 21 February 1889 at the Melbourne General cemetery in Melbourne, Victoria.^{[citation needed]}

Hi Elice,

My greatgrandfather David Wilson died at Swans Reach 1931 aged 86yrs his father was Robert and his mother was Helena Mary Black.

David had a daughter called Mary Ellen she in turn had 2 daughters called Mary & Ellen which tends me to believe that Helena should actually be Ellen Mary.

Robert Wilson & his wife went to Gippsland with children (when I don't know)

Mary Sym born about 1837 in Fifeshire Scotland

David born about 1844 Died 1931

Robert born 1852 Geelong

Now I will send you something that was sent to me from a lady who did the pioneer index for Gippsland I have also copied the conversation between Jenny & myself.

It appears that there was only one death between Wm and Robt registered in Orbost at the time going on the reg numbers.

Now I was interested in a friend of my mother's who as a child I called "Aunty Mary". It turns out her real name was Susan. 1-James WILSON

James married Grahamie CRAIGIE on 14 Apr 1788 in Moneydie, Perth, Scotland. They had two children: Robert Craigie and Alexander.

2-Robert Craigie WILSON was born on 16 Oct 1804, was christened on 28 Oct 1804 in Auchterderran, Fife, Scotland, died on 22 Jun 1877 in Tambo River, Vic, Australia, at age 72, and was buried on 24 Jun 1877 in Bruthen, Vic, Australia.

He emigrated from Greenock Scotland to Port Phillip Australia on 26 Jul 1841. His family travelled as assisted imigrants upon the William Abrams. He worked as a Carpenter. He was a carpenter his whole life. He resided at a 4 bedroom house in Weller street in 1850-1854 in Ashby, Geelong, Vic, Australia.

Robert Wilson married Helen Mary BLACK, daughter of David BLACK and Mary SIM, on 21 Nov 1828 in Aberdour, Fife, Scotland. Helen was born about 1810. They had eight children: James Sim, John, Mary Sim, Ghrame Creagie, David, Helen, Jessie, and Robert.

I have only started family research in the last couple of months & no I don't as yet have a ged com file or software programme. I will have to do something about this Yes we would love to have the children,& their families etc of Ellen & William.
