--Civil War Service - Battery A, Ohio 1st Light Artillery Regiment was mustered into service September 6, 1861, at Camp Chase, Ohio, by Howard Stansberry, Captain Topographical Engineers. Mustered out July 31, 1865, at Camp Cleveland, Ohio, by Silas Ramsey, Major and Aid de Camp.
--Albert enlisted on Oct 6 1864 as was assigned as a Private in Battery A, Ohio 1st Light Artillery Regiment. The 1st battle listed after he joined the unit was Columbia, Tennessee (Nov 24-28, 1864). He mustered out with the Battery on July 31 1865.
--Albert was married to Helen Augusta Wright on 23 Sep 1873 in Alpine, Kent, Michigan, by J.A.Savage, Minister. They had at least five children.
