Biography

John Harrison Wilson was born on March 6, 1922 in Wellsville, Columbiana, Ohio, United States. His parents were James Harrison Wilson (1900 - 1984) and Lottie Esther (Gilmore) Wilson (1898 - 1980).

His sister was Christine (Wilson) Boissoneault (1924 - 2007).

John Harrison Wilson was a veteran of WWII [1]where he was stationed in Honalulu, Hawaii and served on a submarine. He married Helen Louise Gillespie (1918 - 2015) on 25 May 1941[2] and lived in Ohio,[3] [4] Florida and Tennessee. While in Florida he enjoyed deep sea fishing and would routinely share his catch with his family.

He loved his Pekingese dogs, his garden and his family. He was a lineman for Ma Bell before the monopoly was broken up and was a very handy man.

John always kept his tools and house very organized, to the point of building a cross-referenced index card catalog for his expansive collection of VHS tapes, with movies and shows recorded and descriptions copied or cut and taped onto cards from the TV guide. Not only is it possible to look up the title of a show or movie, but to also look up an actor/actress and find a listing of all recordings in which they play a part. This organization continues to inspire his family. [5]

John died on August 15, 1994 in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee aged 72. He is buried in Nashville National Cemetery, Madison, Tennessee [6] [7] [8] [9].
