John Wilson and his wife Eleanor Rhea migrated from Virginia to Kentucky and Westward to Missouri. They lived in a cave, and cooperated with the native Americans, who helped them start their farm with a gift of pigs. John made his own coffin from a hollowed out log and requested to be buried in the cave, where they lived. Wilson's cave has become a tourist attraction. There is a lengthy biography on his Find A Grave memorial.
