  • The link of this John Wilson to Janet Wilson is through family names as follows:

John Wilson and Agness's children from birth records were Janet, John and Margaret. I've found in most cases that the first son is named after the father or grandfather of the husband and the first daughter is named after the mother or grandmother of the wife. Janet the daughter of Agnes and John Arthur her husband named their first girl Agnes (after Agnes Strachan) and her first son was named after her husband's father Alexander Arthur. The second son was named after her husband John and the second daughter was named after Janet. The third was named after her only sister, Margaret. While we already know that this family is connected to a John Wilson the evidence suggesting John Wilson 7/3/1714 is Janet's father lies in the remaining daughter's name of Christian (not that common) but the same name as the person I believe is her grandmother, Christian Anderson. It would appear that Janet running out of sisters named her third daughter after her grandmother. It's a loose connection but I had also narrowed John down to two or three already.
