Jane Robertson Wilson (1892-1970) was born at Scores Park, St Andrews, Fife, Scotland on the 17th July 1892.

She was the eldest daughter of Sir John and Lady Emma Wilson.
Although she was born in Fife, the family lived at Craigmount, Kelvinside, Partick, Lanarkshire at the time.

By the 1901 census, her father had bought Airdrie House, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland and the family are in residence in the census.

This was also the address given at the time of her marriage on the 23rd April 1914 at Coatbridge Parish Church, Lanarkshire to John Cassels Monteith.

The couple moved to Glenluiart, Moniaive, Dumfries-shire. John was already in the army when they married so he was in the first wave of troops sent to the front when WW1 commenced.
Jane was in Edinburgh on the 28th September 1915 when she gave birth to their son, who was named after his father, but became known as "Jack". Tragically, just three days later, her husband, John, was killed at the battle of Loos.
She would go on to remarry, but not for some years. She married quietly, after a brief engagement, on the 9th July 1932 to a widower, Major-General Sir Reginald Seaburne May, at the private chapel of the Archbishop of York's Palace, Bishopthorpe, York.

They lived in Oxford Square, Paddington,

then just after the war, in Knightsbridge,

Her husband died in 1958 by which time, they were living at Kingston House, Princes Gate, London.

She moved to Camden Hill Gate, Kensington nearby, where she lived from 1960 until her death in 1970.

She died on the 20th May 1970 at 7 Campden Hill Gate, Duchess of Bedford Walk, Kensington, London,
