Thomas John Wilt was born 15 Aug 1818, in Blair County, Pennsylvania. His parents were John Wilt and Maria Adams. He married Susan Eckenrode 7 Nov 1842, in St. Michael, Loretto, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. After she passed he married Catherine Ann Bender 20 May 1855, in St. Augustine Church, Saint Augustine, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Thomas John Wilt passed away 20 Nov 1904, in Saint Augustine, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. He's buried in the Saint Augustine Cemetery there.^[1][2][3][4]

"In Remembrance-obit-On Sunday, Thomas Wilt died at his -home in Ashville, this county, aged eighty-six years. He was twice married. His firstwife was Susan Eckenrode of Loretto to which union four sons were born, JamesWilt of Altoona; John C. Wilt of Ashville; Evantus and FrankWilt, deceased.His second wife wasthe widow of John Wharton, deceased. Her maiden name was Catherine Bender of Carrolltown. She died ten months ago. To this last unionthree daughters were born: Mrs. J.Milton Snider of Altoona; Annie V., wife of C. A. Conrad of Ashville,and Jennie, deceased, wife of John H. Woodburn of Munhall, Pa. The funeral took place at St.Augustine, Wednesday morning, when mass was said by the Rev. P. Quinn.Cambria Freeman Nov 25 1904"^[5]
