1775 American Revolutionary War: Winchester, Henry, of Ashburnham, Massachusetts Colony, was a Private in Capt. John Gates' Company, Colonel John Whetcomb's Regiment of Minute-men, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; service 7 days. enlisted in Army April 26, 1775. Served in Capt. David Wilder's company, Colonel Asa Whitcomb's 23rd Regiment. Company receipts for wages for August and September, 1775, dated Camp at Prospect Hill. Company return (probably October 1775). Served with Capt. Thomas Willington's (late Capt. Benjamin Bullard's) company; Colonel Asa Whitcomb's regiment. Muster roll dated Camp at Ticonderoga, November 27, 1776. Certified as having been in service prior to October 1, 1776. Reported on command with General Lee.[3]
1780 Henry Winchester, of Ashburnham, filed intention of marriage to the widow, Lois Phelps, of Lancaster, on January 30, 1780. [4] Marriage took place April 23, 1780[5]
