In 1936 she left for a holiday to Auckland with a Mrs Winder (presumably her mother) [2]
Frederic Garnet Thompson and Lylla Jean Lee Winder married at the Presbyterian Church in Gore in 1939 . It has not been researched into if they had any children.
She died in 1962 and was buried at Avonside Anglican Cemetery in Canterbury, New Zealand [3]
