Biography

Clarence Veirs Windsor was born on 12 July 1885 to Alfred Rees Windsor and Sarah Ellen Veirs in Fulton, Missouri. He married Floss McCord Barr on 24 December 1910 in St. Louis, Missouri; they had 5 known children. Clarence died on 18 January 1973 in Florida at the age of 87.[1][2]

United States Census History

1900: Clarence V Windsor is enumerated in his parents' household in Nine Mile Prairie Township, Missouri. He is 14 years old and lives with his parents, 9 other siblings, and maternal grandmother. He attended school and can read and write.[3]

1920: Clarence Windsor is enumerated as Head of Household at his home in Nine Mile Prairie, Missouri, which is listed as a farm. He is 34 years old and married; he lives with his wife, three children, and a boarder named Homon Windsor. He is a farmer who works on his own account; he also owns his home. He speaks English and is able to read and write.[4]

1930: Clarence V Windsor is enumerated as Head of Household at 8722 Argyle Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. He owns the home, which is valued at 7200. He lives with his wife and five children; the family does not own a radio set. Clarence is able to read and write, and he was 25 years old when he first married. He works as a carpenter for a contracting company.[5]

1940: Clarence Windsor is enumerated as Head of Household in Normandy Township, St. Louis, Missouri. He is 54 years old and lives with his wife, son, daughter, and son-in-law. He works as a carpenter.[6]

12 September 1918: Clarence Veirs Windsor is 33 years old. He is a white, native born farmer who works for himself. His wife is listed as his nearest relative. He is described as tall with a slender build, brown hair, and brown eyes.[7]

26 April 1942: Clarence Veirs Windsor is 57 years old and works for Stephens Browns Company. He is white, 5'10", and weighs 145 lbs. He has brown eyes, brown hair, and a light brown complexion.
