Biography

Abraham was a Friend (Quaker)

Abraham was born 18d 8mo 1757 [18 Aug 1757] at the Oblong monthly meeting in Dutchess County, New York.[1] He was the son of Abraham and Anstes Wing.[1]

He accompanied his family when his father was granted a certificate to the Queensbury monthly meeting on 16d 1mo 1766 [16 Jan 1766].[2]

In 1779, Abraham married Polly McKee of White Creek, Washington, New York.[3] He was disowned by the Easton monthly meeting on 12d 7mo 1781 [12 Jul 1781] for marrying out of the society.[4]

Abraham was forced to quit his 150 acre farm on lot 29 in Queensbury during the American Revolution.[5] In 1789, he was discharged for paying all past and future quit-rent on the property.[5]
