John was a farmer and lived in Rochester. He gave his youngest son Jabez his farm in Rochester as well as care of John's wife Elizabeth in his will dated April 2 1750. This farm sat on land that John had inherited from his father John at Great Neck on one of the points that stretches into Buzzards Bay by Rochester.
