Married 1 ORRILLA SMITH (1 – 8) Born March 12 1800 Granville NY Died Nov 20 1840 NY Married Feb 29 1816 Granville NY. Married 2 OLIVE W. HAILE June 24 1841.

Children: 1. Hiram S. Wing. Born April 2 1817, died Sept 18 1861 Hartford, NY.

2. Harvey S. Wing. Born Aug 20 1819, died 1893.

3. Leonard W. Wing. Born May 18 1821 in White Creek, NY, died around 1907.

4. Wendell W. Born Aug 10 1825, died Jan 1 1827 White Creek NY.

5. George W. Born Sept 22 1828, died March 21 1842.

6. Harriet A. Wing. Born Aug 3 1833 in Middle Granville NY, died 1908.

7. Sarah Jane. Born March 20 1834 Hartford Twp NY, died March 9 1907 La Grippe, DeKalb, IL.

8/ BENJAMIN MOWRY Born May 17 1836 Hartford NY, died March 12 1909 Plano, IL.

Benjamin was a lawyer in 1860. There was also a Benjamin Wing who was the second deacon of the Second Baptist Church of Fort Ann, founded in 1809. They lived in White Creek NY until 1826 and later 4 miles north of New Hartford NY.

Benjamin learned from his uncle the tanning and shoemaker trades. He owned a few farms which he sold to his daughter Sarah Jane's husband while buying another farm in Hartford. He lived with his son Leonard after he retired.

Benjamin fought in the War of 1812.

There is more detailed information about Benjamin Wing that appears in the annals of the Wing family in the OWL, their yearly magazine since 1902. Census 1840, Hartford, Washington County, NY: Benjamin Wing, 1 boy & 2 girls between 5 & 10, 1 boy between 10 & 15, 1 boy between 15 & 20, 2 men & 1 woman 20 – 30, 1 man & 1 woman 40 – 50.

1850 census: Hartford, Washington, New York: Benjamin Wing, age 36, Farmer, real estate worth $6000; Olive, age 40; Sarah, age 17; Benjamin, age 16.

1855 NY census: Hartford, Washington: head Benjamin Wing, 63; wife Olive H, 50; son Harvey, 32; son Benj, 21; nephew Albert, 14. Benjamin and Harvey owned the land, and are listed as farmers.

1860 census: Fort Ann, Washington, New York: Benj Wing, age 67; Olvi, age 56; Harvey S, age 40; Benj M, age 24.
