Felton married Edna F Spires in 1916 in Colquitt County, Georgia. Edna was the daughter of William W Spires and Minne Jane Easter.^[3][4]

They had at least five children:

Felton's WWI Draft Registration states he was born in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia in 1894. He was living with his parents in Dooly/Wilcox County, Georgia in 1900 and 1910. In the 1920 census record, after marrying Edna in 1916, they were living in Wheeler County. A census record for 1930 cannot be found. A death certificate states he was born in Abbeville, Georgia and was a laborer.

According to the death certificate, Felton F Wingate, widowed son of John Wingate and Eva Wingate, residing in Savannah, died in 1937 in Chatham County, Georgia.^[6] He was a passenger in an automobile accident on Ogeechee Road at the 9 mile post. He died from the injuries he sustained (fractured skull & right thigh, and crushed chest). He was buried on 26 May 1937 at Laurel Grove Cemetery, in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.^[7] NOTE: 1930 census record for Edna Spires states she is "widowed".
