Biography

America was born in 1818, the daughter of Cyrus Wingate.^[1]

She married Gabriel Threlkeld in 1835, permission given by her father.^[2] Gabriel died in February of 1850, and America is found heading the household with 4 children.^[3]

She married Robert M. Lee on 17 October 1853^[4] She had at least two children with Robert, a male born in 1856^[5], and a daughter born in 1859.^[6] A third child, daughter Rosa, was born in 1857 according to her death record,^[7] however it is likely she is the birth registered in 1859 (see her profile for additional notes.)

She passed away in December 1859^[8] of a fever of 17 days duration.^[9][10]
