He married Sarah Drew (born July 8, 1761) who was daughter of Silas Drew of Barrington. [1] They were married on Feb 1782 in Madbury, New Hampshire. [2]
They lived in Durham, New Hampshire and Parsonsfield, Maine. They had seven children. [1]

He died in North Parsonsfield, Maine on Nov 14, 1850 at age 92. He is buried at North Parsonsfield Cemetery. [4] Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer on 26 Dec 1850 p3: "DEATHS---In North Parsonsfield, Jonathan Wingate, Esq. a Revolutionary soldier, aged 92."

The Wingate history says he died March 20, 1821 [location not stated]. [1] but this cannot be correct given other sources and the 1850 census of Parsonsfield, Maine.
