Biography

Gustav was born in 1866 in the Russian Empire.^[1][2] He emigrated to Canada in 1896^[1] or 1898.^[2] He married Josephine Schulkoski.^[3][1] Gustav died in 1943^[4] and is buried at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetary in Nisku, Alberta, Canada. ^[5]

Family Search identifies Gustav's parents as Karl Winkelman and Ernestine Dittke. This is unsourced. Please help confirm or refute the idea.

Everyone is listed as born in Russia except for little Gustav who was born in Manitoba. Young Gustav is the only Canadian citizen, others are Russian citizens. Immigration year was 1896. Everyone was of German racial origin, spoke German and was Lutheran.

The children are: Reinold (22, 1899), Gustav (13), Ottilia (21, 1889), Hilda (19, 1891), and Millie (16, Nov 1895). Everyone is born in Russia except young Gustav. Immigration to Canada was in 1898. They are all of German racial origin and Lutheran. Only young Gustav is a Canadian, the rest are Russian Poland.
