Daniel and Sarah (Winkler) Hon, natives of Kentucky and Indiana respectively. They came to Illinois in 1812, long before Illinois was admitted into the Union, and in 1827 he married and reared a family of seven children – all boys. Mrs. Hon died in 1850, and in 1852 Daniel married again; this wife dying, he married again, and both he and his last wife died in this State.
