Biography

Allen Alonso Winn was born in 1866 in Tipton County, Tennessee. He was the son of Joseph Winn and Sarah Davis. After his parents died, he and his sister lived with their Aunt Ophelia (Winn) and Uncle Jerry Omare.

Allen married Jennie Eugenia Wolf in 1891. They had five children during their marriage. After Jennie died, he then married Wilhelmina Mina de Wald on September 8, 1907, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Allen worked as a fireman. He died on August 7, 1912, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 46, and was buried there.

WINN-- On Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1912 at 3 o'clock p.m., ALLEN A. WINN, beloved husband of Mena Dewald, aged 46 years, a native of Memphis, Tenn., and a resident of this city fourteen years.

The relatives and friends of the family, also the officers and members of Metalrie Lodge No. 126, K. of P., are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place Thursday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, from his late residence, 507 South Salcedo Street.
