He earned a BSME from Carnegie Institute of Technology and then earned an MBA from Syracuse University. He went to work for Convair Astronautics in Kearney Mesa and General Electrics in Utica, New York. He later moved to Annapolis to become Vice President of Operations for Chesapeake Instrument Corporation where he began a long association with the US Navy.
He moved to San Diego to become Vice President of Spectral Dynamics. After Spectral was acquired by Scientific Atlantic Corporation, he became President and General Manager of the Government Products Division. He then became President of Titan Corporation Severe Environmental Systems and later CEO and President of Tri Electronics Corporation. He was Vice President of Indra Technology until shortly before he passed away.
When he was 20 he married Eileen Yvonne Rishel in Winston Salem, North Carolina. They had a son and a daughter together.
He passed away in 2004 in Rancho Bernardo. The disposition of his remains is unknown at this time.
