Biography

Kenelm Winslow was a son of Kenelm Winslow and Abigail Waterman, born 5 November 1716 in Marshfield, Massachusetts.[1][2]

He married Abigail Bourne in Barnstable, Massachusetts, on 14 March 1754.[2][3] Abigail died in Marshfield on 21 December 1761. The will of her father, Silvanus Bourne of Sandwich, dated 20 May 1763, names the [living] children of his daughter Abigail Winslow, deceased, as Kenelm Winslow, Joseph Winslow, and Abigail Winslow.[2]

Kenelm Winslow died in Marshfield on 13 August 1780.

Probate

On 24 August 1780 Kenelm Winslow and John Gallison, both of Marshfield, were named administrators for the estate of Kenelm Winslow, Esq., late of Marshfield. The estate was found to be insolvent.[2][4]

His inventory (not itemized) was taken on 31 August 1780 in Marshfield. His estate was represented as insolvent.[5]

In 1781, a list of claims and creditors was recorded.[6]

In 1782, real estate that he owned jointly with Cornelius Sampson of Kingston, a trader was divided.[7]

In 1782, an account of his estate by Kenelm Winslow, and John Gallison of Marshfield, was recorded which included, gravestones, the write-off of the enslaved person that were recorded in his inventory that "will not sell for anything", "one being an ideot", depreciation of money, and administration fees.[8]
