Elizabeth, b abt 1631; m1 by abt 1656 Robert Brooks; m2 in Salem 22 Sep 1669 George Curwin. She died 23 April 1698 in Boston.

In his 1831 History of Scituate, Massachusetts, from its first settlement to 1831, Samuel Deane claimed that Elizabeth Winslow, daughter of Gov. Edward Winslow married Gilbert Brooks. Robert Charles Anderson asserts in The Great Migration that this claim is wrong. Anderson states that Elizabeth Winslow actually married Robert Brooks.[1]

I've fixed the problem with the two Elizabeth's. The later Elizabeth is Winslow-1132.

Winslow-181 and Winslow-196 appear to represent the same person because: Same vitals. Well sourced Profile of father includes marriage of daughter Elizabeth to Curwin.

Yep there is definitely something wrong here. Since Richard Clarke has another wife by the same name I think we should detach this Elizabeth from him and the children listed here (and who are those Wrights?) I think a bad merge was done meeting the 1630 Elizabeth with a 1730-ish Elizabeth.

Something is wrong with this picture. The Elizabeth Winslow who married Richard Clarke was the d/o Edward Winslow who married Elizabeth Dixey. Then Edward Winslow Sr. married Elizabeth Hutchinson. This Edward was the s/o John Winslow who married Mary Chilton, and Mary was d/o James Chilton the Pilgrim. Check you Mayflower sources.

This particular Elizabeth is just hooked up with the wrong parents. However Edward Winslow and his wife Susanna, both Pilgrims on the Mayflower, did have a daughter Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is 11 degrees from T S Eliot, 13 degrees from Walter Howe and 9 degrees from Henry VIII of England on our single family tree. Login to find your connection.
