1755- 1756 [Colonial Soldiers and Officers in New England, 1620-1775] Seth WINSLOW leaves Hardwick MASS and serves in the French and Indian War along with his brother, Nathaniel. Service in Col Timothy Ruggles regiment

Seth's regiment served along the Nova Scotia coastline. Several notable families from Hardwick MA are also early immigrants to Horton /Liverpool/Cornwallis. i.e. the RUGGLES, TUPPERs, the ATWOODs, the DOANEs, and others. Elizabeth HOLMEs first cousin also immigrated to Liverpool NS.

Seth mustered out December 24, 1756, remaining in Dartmouth and meeting the Morton family prior to his 1760 marriage to Phoebe.

Mary Church of Gr. 23 Nov. 1775; he was living here 11 Nov. 1794, when he sold land formerly belonging to his father; James, b. 1 June 1740; also (born here) Hannah, b. 9 July 1744; Bathsheba, b. 20 June 1747, d. 25 Mar. 1748; Bathsheba, b. 6 Ap. 1749, d. 16 Ap. 1749; Thomas, b. 18 July 1750; Charity, b. 27 Ap. 1752, m.
