Note: 030731: 3 Almost all dates in the family bible conflict with the dates for the same events found elsewhere and are highly questionable.[16] William Bowman. Minister/Priest 11 Feb 1843. Aquaforte, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Note: Wrongly dated in the Vital Statistics Record as 1842. Transcriber, Frank Severn, was very sloppy and made many mistakes of this kind.[17][18]

Note CI539110116:
I'm really not sure where the baptism took place. I don't know whether there was a church in Aquaforte that long ago. According to the book "This is our Place This is our Home" by Joan Edward (Breakwater Books), the bible was donated to the St. Philip's on May 24, 1859 and it is thought by locals that the church was first dedicated about two years before that. I'm fairly confident that St. Luke's existed in Ferryland from about the early 1830s onward and it may be that all Aquaforte families travelled there for baptisms, marriages and funerals. 1
Wrongly dated as 1842 in Vital Statistics Record. This transcriber (Frank Severn) was very sloppy and made many mistakes.
Note DI539Event Description: Source: Family Bible.
030713: 1
Although this date appears in the family bible, many other dates found there have proven to be incorrect so there is no reason to believe that this is an exception. Requires evidence from a primary source to determine which date of death is correct. That said, it does appear most likely that he died on January 22 and was buried on January 24.
Note NI539130813: There are several dates given for birth and christening and some make no sense (e.g. Christening before Birth date). This will only be resolved by consulting primary source records if possible at The Rooms. 1
Discrepancy between Helen's report of Cedric's birth date and my records (1842 vs. 1841).
Note XI539300112: In the NGB transcript of the church record the dates of burial are sometimes mistakenly given as the date of death. It is not known if this is one of those cases.
