DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Bill by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Bill:
Hi Rob, I have been looking at this profile and that of his supposed wife to try and figure-out which William Henry Winter she actually married.
I can see that Frances did marry a William Henry Winter at Newtown in 1882 but which one is quite unclear.
The other William Henry Winter (1860-1885) who was born in 1860 and died at Bungendore near Queanbeyan in 1885. If I had to guess I would say that he was not the husband.
This William Henry Winter (abt. 1860 - 1955) appears to have re-married at Sunny Corner after being born at Mudgee like Frances before dying in western Sydney. This seems to be a more likely match (and fits with your grandmother's information).
