He was probably the son of Margaret Winter who died 7 May 1805 at Grantham, Lincolnshire.[1]
In 1794 he married Rachel Maples, with issue three children:
1 Letitia Winter bap 17 Mar 1796 in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
2 Richard Winter bap 22 Feb 1797 in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
3 Margaret Winter bap 11 Apr 1798 in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
He died or was buried on 16 July 1828 at Grantham, Lincolnshire, aged 59.[2]
