Biography
On 18 May 1921 Lurli Florence Gertrude was born to Herbert Winter and Roseana Hocton.
She was educated at the Auckland Point Catholic School in Nelson. [1]
In 1933 she won a prize for Cooking in Standard V. [2]
In 1934 she won top marks in History in Form II. [3]
In 1937 she was bridesmaid at her sister Jeaniffer's marriage to Ian McDonald Liddell, where the organist was Mr P. Stratford, friend of the bride. [4]
In 1942 Lurli Florence Gertrude Winter and Morris Howard Stratford were married in Nelson.

STRATFORD—WINTER The marriage was solemnised recently at Nelson Cathedral of Morris Howard, second son of Mr and Mrs A. Stratford. Nelson, and Lurli Florence Gertrude, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. J. Winter, of Nelson. .. The bride was attended by her niece, Miss Anita Haase, as chief bridesmaid .. Mr J. Winter, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man, while Mr R. Stratford, the bridegroom's brother, acted as groomsman.
On 30 October 2007 Lurli Florence Gertrude Stratford passed away aged 86. [6]
Her name is on a commemorative headstone at her mother's grave at General Block 22 Plot 074 of the Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson. [7]
