Biography

Charlotte was born in 1842 in St Savour Southwark, Surrey. Her birth was registered in the December quarter of that year.^[1]She appeared on the 1851 Census^[2] living with her parents, Robert and Charlotte, and her siblings, Keziah, Robert, Phoebe, and Emma. Their address was 34 John Street in Lambeth, Surrey. Her father was a blacksmith

Most of her other family members do not appear on the 1861 Census due to records being lost or damaged. However, Charlotte can be found as patient at Guy's Hospital in St Thomas, Southwark, Surrey^[3]. She was a prostitute. It is not stated what she was being treated for.

After this, it is not certain what happened to her. She may have married or passed away, and there are records that could support both of these conclusions but none that have yet been confirmed. It is possible, due to the nature of her work, she died and a record was never made of it.
