James Winter was born about 1821 in Ohio.
He married Eliza Jennings, daughter of James Jennings and Ann (Kemp) Jennings, on 20 Aug. 1840 at Ripley, Indiana.[1]
He was a farmer when he and Eliza appeared on the census of 21 Nov. 1850 at Butler, Franklin, Indiana.[2]
