Biography
Francis D Wintermute was born on May 30, 1827 in Upper Canada, son of Jacob Wintermute (1784–1866) and Dorothy Young (1791–1833).
Francis married Hannah Young (born in 1837 in Upper Canada; daughter of John J Young and Elizabeth Young). They may have had about nine children:

- William Wintermute, 1863-1945
- George Franklin Wintermute, 1867-1940
- Alexander Wintermute, 1869-1951

- Jennet Albertha Wintermute, 1878-1878

In 1871, Francis Wintemute (43), was living with his wife Hannah (age 33), and four sons: John (11), William (8), George (4), Alexander (1), in Tuscarora, Brant, Ontario, Canada. [3]
In 1881, Francis Wintimute (52), married, Farmer, was living with his wife Hannah (43), in Oneida, Haldimand, Ontario, Canada. Their children were: John (20), William (17), George (14), Alexander (11), Francis (5).[4]
Francis died on February 27, 1890 in Canada, aged 62.[5]
