Alfred Claude Winterton was born on 28th September 1897 at Drake, New South Wales, Australia. He was the eldest child of Alfred Winterton and Mary Townsend.[1]
He married Dorothy Boag in 1938 at Glen Innes, New South Wales.[2]
Alfred served in the Volunteer Defence Corps during the Second World War, in the 22nd Battalion; enlisted 11th September 1942, discharged 29th September 1945.[3]
He passed away in 1976 at New South Wales.[4]
