Henry was born about 1774 in Orangeburgh District, SC to William Wise and his wife Margaret.[1]
Marriage
After obtaining their marriage license on 20 May 1801[2], he married Elizabeth Groover Wise on 24 May 1801 in Bulloch County, GA.[3]
Research Notes
Please do not attach Sarah Margaret Denmark as Henry’s mother. William Wise was married to a woman named Margaret in South Carolina as early as 1775, and the Denmark family did not move to Georgia until around 1786. It is not possible that William Wise married a Denmark, and he certainly did not marry a woman whose siblings later married her children.
